Quadcopter Video

Autodesk Maya

Work that was done

The quadcopter was one of my first large Maya projects during my time at Camosun. I began by modeling the quadcopter in low poly and then converted it to a smooth mesh. After completing the body, I separated the window, top body, and bottom body to allow them to move independently. I then proceeded to design the wheels and other components of the copter, ensuring that the wheels would function as both rotors and landing gear.

Once the model was complete, I focused on creating a control system for the moving parts by adding keys to the selected components that would be moving. This setup allowed the parts to respond to a controller's input. With the functionality in place, I proceeded to animate the quadcopter, keyframing its movements and flight patterns. Finally, I used the BOSS Editor in Maya to create the water for the final landing shot.
